Main cast announced for S11: http://www.radiotimes.com/news/2017-10-22/doctor-who-bradley-walsh-tosin-cole-mandip-gill-and-sharon-d-clarke-join-jodie-whittaker-as-regular-cast-members/

Also, S11 will be 10 episodes, airing in autumn 2018, with ep 1 being 60 minutes and the rest 50 minutes; in other words, two episodes less compared to S8-S10 but the regular episodes being very slightly longer.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens, at long last.

What did you think?

I really liked BB-8. He was so cute.

In general, it was .. okay? I've never been a Star Wars person (I think I saw the original films at some point in my youth but they didn't make an impact; I saw one of the prequels in the cinema and never saw the others) so that whole universe isn't quite my thing and the moments in TFA that seemed clearly aimed at having an emotional impact on existing fans didn't quite work for me.

But it wasn't two hours of my life that I'd want back, and I'm considering seeing the next one in the cinema (as I feel that a big screen is probably better for films like that), so it was ... okay enough.

I've seen bits and pieces of it. It looks alright from what I've seen.

It's very ... slow, and quiet, compared to a lot of stuff on TV these days, which took some getting used to. Absolutely gorgeous sets and costumes though and Jenna's superb in the title role.

It's not going to be one of my favourite shows ever but it's so far been just about interesting enough to keep watching.

Hello Other Kribu, nice to meet you. :P

But yes, what Keilax said. Specifically, currently, about Victoria's early years as Queen.

I'm now done with the Babylon 5 series proper rewatch, and have moved to the extra stuff, so ... last thing watched was the movie In the Beginning. Figured I'll just get all of B5 over with before checking out The Expanse S2 on Netflix, now that it's there at last.

pro tip when u do put in on e bay: do not ask for an arm and a leg.

When putting something on eBay because one needs money, surely it makes sense for the seller to ask as much as they think can get.

Not for what that book was selling for. Some listings were upwards of £200, which is way too much.

Hence "for as much as they think they can get". If they have reason to assume that it will actually sell at £200, then why not, though?

(And if it doesn't, then, well, they were wrong. And will just have to suck it up, relist it and lower the asking price to something a bit lower, which they think they might be able to sell it for...)

What is the black edition? Is ... is it what I'm thinking? ......

Presumably it's the Black Edition? The really rare one, all black, no slip cover.

In this case, I recall that the average Black Edition went for around £100 (or more) when they first came out and I was hunting for a copy. No idea how much people would be willing to pay these days though since the "new and shiny" immediate enthusiasm wouldn't be there now, but on the other hand, they're less common on eBay now than they were in 2014. So the question is really "are there any serious collectors left who are actively still looking for a copy", I suppose.

Victoria.

And I got to the end to S4 on my Babylon 5 rewatch. One more series to go (and then decide if I want to do the movies and spin-off stuff in the same go or not)...
