ZRP-New Orleans/Baton Rouge/Bayou
« on: May 27, 2013, 05:29:57 AM »
Silas stalked down Bourbon Street in a low crouch M93r at the ready. There was a time when New Orleans was a bustling hub of activity, street vendors shouting, and people partying. That was before the... things. Now it was a burned out shell of a city, no people, no animals, no... anything. He was supposed  to meat up with someone here a mister Noah Lockwood. Silas crouched and waited.

Johnathan Transigo walked down the street, trenchcoat trailing behind him. He lit a cigarette. He held it to his mouth. It tasted awful.

During the time of the apocalypse, there were no good cigarettes to get -- likely to due the fact that most good cigarette-selling vendors were, in fact, dead. Though, of course, so were the bad cigarette-sellers; but even a bad cigarette has a certain flavour. These cigarettes -- they were just inadequate. Though, of course, pretty much all cigarettes tasted like Unpleasant Excrement anyway.

John sighed and looked around, his sideburns rustling in the wind. He had a bad feeling about today.

Noah woke up covered in hay and straw. He rubbed his eyes and looked at his surroundings. A barn. He remembered now a group of zombies or whatever they were  had chased him away from his shelter when he was out on a food hunt. He'd left his gun behind. unpleasant excrement.

He looked out the gap in the barn and saw he'd gotten up later than intended. It was a good 10 miles at least      into town. And he was supposed to meet someone. How was he supposed to get a whole ten miles without a weapon in 20 minutes!

The  he saw it, a pitchfork sticking into the ground. He went over to it and picked it up giving it a few practice jabs at a scarecrow, before he made his way to the road to town.

Stone groaned, clutched his head, and killed the zombie next to him.
"Gah, my head. Better go find the others".
And off he went with a drink in one hand and a revolver in the other.

ZOMBIES: They saw him, tall with some very impressive sideburns a small object in his hands. They didn't care they were hungry. So the chose to attack, 2 in the front and 3 on the left. (Jonathan)
Silas: Silas had been waiting for almost an hour for this kid, Where the hell he? Then he saw him, he had read his file Winston Shears, Gulf War veteran and a raving drunk so Silas did the smart thing, HEY WINSTON OVER HERE!

"Shut up, Silas", grunted Stone.
He pocketed the revolver and pulled out the shotgun.
"Hey! WALKERS!" Stone roared, firing at a group of zombies that tore around the corner.

SILAS: Winston was one heel of a guy, a bit not right in the head perhaps but still. Silas saw one out of the corner of his eye, Unpleasant Excrement, crawler! he shouted as it grabbed on to his leg, Silas put a bullet between it's eyes and looked down at Winston. Hella good job with those zombies bro, lets go find this kid uh... Noah.

Johnathan Transigo stared down into the zombie's eyes -- their very souls, if you will. He stared at them for a good, long time, before finally deciding they most likely didn't have souls anyway, which may ruin the whole intimidation factor. He walked close to the two in front, aiming his gun as he did so, before shooting the first one in the head and sinking his axe between the second one's neck.

He gritted his teeth and looked the others in the eyes, before saying in soft, smooth, gruff tones: "Come get me, ye sons of bi'ches."

Noah was tired. He hadn't got much sleep and he was also carrying around a heavy pitchfork.
The road he was walking on was cluttered with abandoned cars. He had given up searching them as all they contained were either empty food packets or layers of grime.
He heard his stomach rumble. He got his packet of crackers that he'd found last night and began nibbling the last one.
He knew he'd been walking for the good portion of an hour and he wasn't even closer to the town. He misinterpreted the directions and was only just make a new route in his head.
Noah sighed and looked at the clouds. If only life could be as a simple as a cloud.

INFECTED: He was skilled with that axe, but they were still unfazed, 5 of them ran as fast as there Rigor Mortis limbs could carry them, straight up to his face. (Johnathan)
WALKERS: He had a thing with 3 points on the end in his hands, as soon as they deemed him big enough 3 of them closed in, 2 in front 1 in the back, BRAIIIINSSSS. (Noah)
Silas: He saw them 3 walkers, all closing in on a kid who couldn't be more than 20, an easy shot if it weren't for the chance of hitting the kid, so he ran past Winston and went to help him.

Noah swore under his breath. As a Walker reached for him. He immediately dropped his food and whacked it around the side of it's face with the back of the prongs.
The Walker stumbled as the large warts on its face burst and a stream of clear liquid ran down its cheek.
He turned just in time to see the zombies behind him. He jabbed on in the face with the prongs, however the pitchfork stayed there as it was stuck in its head.
Noah cried or help hoping someone would hear him.

John Transigo was not afraid; this sort of stuff kept happening to him. It may perhaps be wiser to take the enemy from a distance, but punching them in the face is a whole lot more fun.

And so he punched one zombie, an uppercut, with enough force to topple their head off! Hopefully. John was not entirely sure if these zombies worked that way. Another he one-handedly (left hand, of course) used his shotgun to shoot in the brain, the one weakspot of pretty much everything ever. Except jellyfish. Another he used his left leg to kick in the chest; he would've done the same with the other leg, but he was currently using it to stand. That was three zombies hopefully out. He took a short breath.

If he was going to die here, he hoped he'd look cool doing it.

Silas: was close enough to take the shot, he opened fire triple tapping the zombies between the eyes with his 93r.
You alright kid?
INFECTED: They were afraid, this guy could take of heads with a single punch, they turned and ran. (Jonathan)

Noah sighed in relief as a man came to his aid. He retched the pitchfork out of the dead Walkers face as it crumpled over.
"Thanks..." Noah said between breaths.
They was one zombie still alive however, the one he had originally hit. The blunt prongs weren't enough to crack its skull.
He swung the pitchfork into its throat and pinned it against a van.

Phew, sighed John. That would've ended up ugly for him. Spleen torn outside ugly. Not spleen torn outside beautiful, either.

He paused.

"Come back and fight me, cowards!" he yelled.

Did zombies respond to moral insults? He wasn't sure. Well, it was pretty much granted they'd probably just go off and eat someone else's brain. That would be bad. Plus, it would dampen his usual kill record.

He picked up his axe, secured it on his back, and ran after them.
