This thread encompasses all Star Wars novels, junior/YA novels and comic books (and to a limited extent, movies and tv shows) in the new canon. The last thread was lost in the gas leak.

The Thrawn reveal in the trailer is brilliantly done. I'm not a big fan of Rebels on the whole, due to the cringy dialogue and overall drop in animation quality compared to Clone Wars, but any scene with Vader, Tarkin and Thrawn is good. And the Inquisitors are fun.
Regardless
It appears that they're just doing Thrawn without altering his personality in any way, but in the context of new continuity. So that's cool.
Now we wait for more Bane and maybe some Nihlius or Revan, i guess

i still need to watch the trailer but my god i am so pleased thrawn is back. i wonder how different he will be since he is appearing at a earlier time compared to in the old expanded universe.

edit: i watched the trailer and honestly thrawn's intro in the room with all the stuff around him was so thrawn. like i knew who it was the moment they showed it

I think this will be explored in Zahn's novel. I'm only going by naming conventions, but "Tarkin" featured flashbacks to Tarkin's youth and politicial career. It would be a cool way to bring everyone up to speed on this version of Thrawn.

I've just finished Greg Weisman's Kanan books and I wish they were doing flashback episodes featuring Kanan and Billaba in the Clone Wars. I thought TCW was hit and miss but the animation was definitely better than Rebels'. They're going too McQuarrie and it looks really lifeless.

I saw the first episode at Celebration but I haven't begun the rest of season 3 yet. I'm hoping for some Tarkin/Vader scenes.

If the leaks are right, and they have been so far, the show is ending soon anyway.

I was disappointed there was no resolution to the Ezra/Maul relationship. It literally ended at, "See you soon."

Interested to see what happens with the Bendu and Thrawn, though. Would like a Krennic aftershave too, since they set up a Death Star reveal storyline in the Geonosis episode.
