Skulduggery Pleasant Midnight front cover error?SPOILERS
« on: September 04, 2018, 06:21:17 PM »
Has anyone else realized that at the end of Midnight, it is discover that Alice (Valkyrie's sister) does not have a soul or aura since she died in a previous book. This means she can only feel happy but on the front cover Valkyrie is hugging a scared looking Alice. But how can she be scared if she can only  feel happiness? Can someone explain?

There's a trope describing this. It's called 'Covers Alway Lie'. Short version of it, covers are there to entice people to purchase the thing it's, well, covering, be that a film poster or DVD or book. It is just to make it look cool and enticing. The artist probably didn't read the actual story. Don't worry about it. Besides, if you can't accept that, wouldn't it tip you off that something is wrong with Alice before you're meant to if she's not looking scared? Between those two reasonings, it makes sense.

I would like to point out that although the "cover always lie" is a fact, there always has to be some truth (i.e., omen with the poker
nothing to do with this just wanted to say
“What would killing the Elders result in?"
"Panic? Fear? Three empty parking spaces in the Sanctuary?”
